Darlington - Ada Z. Pickering, 79, of Darlington died Saturday at 8:35 p.m. in Westbrook Nursing Home, Crawfordsville. She had been a patient at the home since Dec 1964. Born Oct 21, 1887 in Montgomery County near Garfield, she was the daughter of Ira and Alice Thornburg Flanigan. She had spent all her life around Montgomery County being employed for many years as a domestic aid. Survivors include a son, Robert Pickering, presently of Columbus, Ohio a daughter, Mrs. Damon "Marie" Caldwell of near Darlington; a sister, Glee Beauchamp of Darlington; a brother, Leo Flanigan presently of Florida; 3 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Hazel Linn. Funeral services will be at Bright Funeral Home in Darlington at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. AL Vermillion officiating. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday. - kbz
